Assistive Technology for School Age Students communicating around the world

"The secret of reading success is interactivity," Shelly Wepner, ED.D (Women’s World, 1/30/01)

Studies have shown that children who use a computer and the Internet "are 85% more likely to pick up a book than kids who don’t." (National School Boards Foundation Study, Women’s World, 1/30/01)

The following Web sites have large collections of electronic and interactive books. The books that are in electronic formatted text can be copied and pasted into talking word processors such as Write Out Loud (Don Johnston Company), or Intellitalk II (Intellitools Company), others are already in an adaptive format.
