WATI Services to Wisconsin School Districts

The WATI regional consultants are available to school districts for a variety of services. Some of these services are provided to school districts free of charge or on a cost recovery basis. For other services there is a fee charged. These fees allow the consultant to provide a broad array of services to their local school districts. Because of the individual nature of Wisconsin's Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs), it is not possible to be definitive in what is free and what has a fee. The individual WATI consultant should be contacted for information on services available from that CESA. The following are general guidelines of WATI services available to school districts:

Free or Minimal Cost

WATI Consultants will:

  • Provide assistive technology assistance through phone or email support
  • Conduct CESA-wide trainings/worskhops/courses/and or conferences (any AT topic or subject)
  • Conduct on-site assistive technology professional development (workshop/training/in-service/class) to parents at the school district level (any AT topic or subject)
  • Provide specific training and technical assistance for early childhood (birth to six)
  • Provide technical assistance regarding AT evaluation of young children
  • Support the provision of ECSE services in community settings (e.g., 4K, 5K, ECSE
  • Support young children with IEPs in community, and family participants (not child specific)
  • Work with CESA Early Childhood program support teachers (including activities such as ongoing communication, cross-training, presenting at EC networking meetings/AT networking meetings)

Fee for Services

WATI Consultants will:

  • Conduct on site professional development (workshop/training/in-service/class) to the staff at the school district level (any AT topic or subject)
  • Facilitate an assessment of an individual student which may include observations, team facilitation, test administration, report of recommmendations, inverviews or follow up meetings
  • Participate in other face-to-face meetings for an individual student
  • Participate in the team process for determining child outcomes
  • Provide training and technical assistance to support family outcome goals (e.g., evaluation, IEP, and rights related to AT)
  • Present at state-level or regional trainings/workshops and/or conferences (Any AT topic)
  • Hold open labs to review software and hardware
  • Manage an AT lending library for all service providers in your CESA
